Center fielder Vernon Wells touched them all and had 3 RBI at Coors Field as
the Craig Boys of Summer beat the Jessica 2 much baseball by the count of 7
to 1.
Jessica was unable to recover after Craig went ahead in the bottom of the 2nd
inning scoring 3 runs utilizing 2 base hits. Jack Cust got things going when
he doubled. Aramis Ramirez next to the plate and he drew a walk. Wells then
clubbed a three-run home run (his 1st of the season). After another out,
Nick Markakis dug into the batters box next, but he struck out. That was all
Rich Harden(1-0) needed. Craig had 9 hits overall, while Jessica had 2.
The losing pitcher was Josh Beckett(0-1). He pitched 5 and 1/3 innings and
surrendered 6 hits and 1 walk.

Mark Teixeira homered and had 2 RBI and James Shields came through with a
solid 9 innings as the Loni Green Monstahs topped the Trevor Fencebusters by
a score of 4 to 0 at AT&T Park.
Loni wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning scoring 3 runners on
2 hits. The early run support proved sufficient for Shields(1-0) and Loni.
That was all the run support Shields required. Neither team managed to score
after the 3rd inning.
Carlos Zambrano(0-1) was the losing pitcher. He surrendered 6 hits and 4
walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.

Right fielder Vladimir Guerrero connected with a 'big fly' and had 4 RBI at
Ebbetts Field where the Sam Mighty Acorns beat the Ben Free K Mitchell 9 to
2.
Guerrero was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided
much of the offense for the visitors. He doubled bringing in a run in the
1st inning and rifled a three-run blast (his 1st of the season) in the 5th
inning. Sam ended up with 13 hits for the game while Ben had 5.
The victory was credited to Andy Sonnanstine(1-0) who went 5 and 1/3 innings,
allowing 2 runs. Steven Shell recorded his 1st save. Jamie Moyer(0-1) took
the loss. Sam scored big getting 7 runs off him in 4 and 1/3 innings.
TERRY AT JOHN

At Yankee Stadium the John The Fab 9 offense put up 4 runs on the scoreboard
in the 8th inning and easily handled the Terry Blast U Balls by the score of
6 to 2.
John came through with the game-winning runs in the 8th inning as they scored
4 runs on 3 base hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Brandon Phillips
who excited the crowd when he delivered a one-base hit plating two runs.
Despite losing, Terry out-hit John 9 to 6.
Jason Grilli(1-0) got the win allowing no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings. Brad
Ziegler was credited with his 1st save. Gil Meche(0-1) suffered the loss.

At Busch Stadium, the Stapley fans witnessed a great pitcher's duel. Chris
Volstad(1-0) finally bested his Stapley opposite, Joe Saunders(0-1), by the
score of 3 to 0.
Baseball scored 2 runs in the top of the 2nd inning with the help of 3 hits.
Pat Burrell led off and started the attack as he delivered a single. Lance
Berkman stepped up next and he stroked a base-hit. Garrett Atkins then
ripped a base-knock. Dusty Ryan was up next and he would hit into a force
play. That early scoring held up. The pitchers took over after the 4th
inning as neither team was able to score again.
J.P. Howell gained credit for his 1st save. Saunders was tagged with the
loss. He pitched 8 innings allowing 8 hits and 1 walk.
