46,644 fans watched an exciting game at Coors Field. The Craig Boys of Summer
topped the Sam Mighty Acorns by the slimmest of margins, 4 to 3.

Craig brought 2 runs across the plate in the 4th inning. The key offensive
moment was provided by Ronnie Belliard who excited the crowd when he smashed
a two-run homer (his 7th of the season). Sam threatened in the 9th but Craig
was able to put down the rally.

Aaron Cook(6-3) went 6 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Joakim Soria
recorded his 12th save. Cliff Lee(6-6) absorbed the loss. 'Just one or two
mistakes were all it took to beat us tonight' Sam Austin said. 'We take
these games one day at a time, but this one was hard to take.'

Right fielder Xavier Nady had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the John Fab 9 defeated
the Tyler Baseball Stars 6 to 5 at Yankee Stadium.

John came up with 4 runs in the 6th inning. The critical plate appearance was
by Nady who brought the crowd to their feet when he doubled plating two runs.
John had a total of 8 hits for the game.

Hideki Okajima(2-4) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 inning. Brad
Ziegler recorded the save, his 7th. Roy Corcoran(1-4) was tagged with the
loss in relief.

Designated hitter Prince Fielder had 4 hits and 2 RBI as the Ben Free K
Mitchell topped the Terry Blast U Balls by a score of 7 to 3 at Ebbetts
Field.

Ben went ahead for good in the 4th inning with 2 runs utilizing 2 base hits.
Josh Hamilton led off the inning for Ben when he drew a walk. Chipper Jones
came next and he grounded into a double play. Fielder then singled. Adam
Laroche stepped in and he cracked a two-run shot (his 5th of the season).
Kurt Suzuki dug into the batters box next, but he struck out. Ben had 13
hits for the night while Terry had 8.

Jesse Litsch(6-3) got the win allowing 3 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings. Cory Wade
got the save, his 3rd. Cole Hamels(8-5) was the losing pitcher. He served
up 3 homeruns in his 6 and 2/3 innings.

The Ben ballclub's record now stands at 41-31. With the loss, the Terry
ballclub's record is 36-33.

The Trevor Fencebusters edged the Jessica 2 much baseball at Minute Maid Park
by the score of 4 to 3.

Trevor scored the deciding run in the 9th inning. After an out was recorded,
Jason Giambi lashed a single. Spilborghs then stole second base. Brad Lidge
then let one slip out of his hand for a wild pitch. Jermaine Dye followed
and he hit a sacrifice fly. Geoff Geary(2-0) got relief help from Joe Nathan
who was excellent in relief and gained credit for his 13th save.

The loss was charged to Lidge(1-4) in relief. He surrendered 2 hits and no
walks in 2 innings.

LONI AT JASON

Second baseman Chase Utley hit one over the fence at Busch Stadium where the
Jason Stapley Luck beat the Loni Green Monstahs by the score of 4 to
2.

Jason won the game with a rally in the 8th inning scoring 2 runs on 2 hits.
After an out was recorded, Carlos Delgado got things rolling when he slapped
a base-hit. J.D. Drew stepped up next and he reached on an error. After
another out, Dioner Navarro stepped in and he was walked intentionally to
load the bases. Shane Victorino came up and he doubled. Randy Winn stepped
into the box and was walked intentionally to load the bases. Jason had 9
hits for the game and Loni had 5.

Grant Balfour(3-2) allowed no runs in 3 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. James Shields(9-4) was the loser. He gave up 8 hits and 1 walk in 7
and 1/3 innings.

Eric Hinske cracked 2 homeruns at Coors Field where the Sam Mighty Acorns beat
the Craig Boys of Summer by the score of 7 to 6.

Hinske had a big day with his bat. He lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in the
2nd inning, delivered a solo blast (his 5th of the season) in the 4th inning
and doubled in the 5th inning. Craig had a chance in the 9th but they came
up short.

The victory was credited to Todd Wellemeyer(6-5) who went 6 and 1/3 innings,
allowing 4 runs. Mariano Rivera recorded his 17th save. Chad
Billingsley(4-6) was hit with the loss. He allowed 3 homeruns in 7 innings
of work.

'Some losses are harder to take than others' Craig Stapley lamented after the
game. 'This was one of them.'

First baseman Miguel Cabrera blasted 2 homeruns at Yankee Stadium where the
John Fab 9 beat the Tyler Baseball Stars 5 to 4.

Tyler was unable to recover after John went ahead in the bottom of the 5th
inning plating an isolated run. John and Tyler each finished the night with
8 hits.

Ubaldo Jimenez(4-5) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 and 2/3 innings and
allowing 4 runs. Jimenez got help from Joel Hanrahan who was credited with
his 2nd save. Ricky Nolasco(6-5) was the loser. He served up 4 gopher balls
in 8 innings.

John Morrey was just happy to get a win, 'We've had such a bad streak of games
-- boy, it's great to get the monkey off our back. Now maybe we can relax a
little and play the kind of baseball of which we are capable.'

Jimmy Rollins had 4 hits as the Ben Free K Mitchell topped the Terry Blast U
Balls by a score of 6 to 2 at Ebbetts Field.

Tim Hudson(4-5) gave Ben a solid outing. He went 6 and 2/3 innings allowing 5
hits and no walks. Ben out-hit Terry for the game, 13 hits to 6.

Hudson got relief help from Cory Wade who gained credit for his 2nd save.
Jeremy Guthrie(3-7) was the losing pitcher. He allowed a few too many
baserunners giving up 8 hits and 3 walks in 3 and 2/3 innings.

Jessica 2 much baseball broke the deadlock in their last at bats, pulling out
a 2 to 1 win over the Trevor Fencebusters and sending their hometown fans
home smiling.

The game was decided in the 9th inning. After an out was recorded, Kelly
Shoppach doubled. One out later, Luke Scott stepped up to the plate and he
doubled giving Jessica the win and sending the home town fans into a frenzy.
Jessica had 7 hits for the night.

Chad Durbin(6-0) allowed no runs in 3 innings, and picked up the victory.
Bobby Jenks(0-5) was tagged with the loss in relief. He allowed 2 hits and
no walks in 2 and 1/3 innings.

The Jessica ballclub's record now stands at 28-40. Still in a bad slump, with
this loss, Trevor is 2-8 lately and 27-44, worst in the league on the year.

The Loni Green Monstahs defeated the Jason Stapley Luck by a score of 5 to 2
at Busch Stadium.

In the 2nd inning Loni went on top for good as they scored 2 runs on 3 base
hits. That early scoring held up. Loni ended up with 11 hits for the game
while Jason had 6.

The win was credited to Jon Lester(6-3) who went 6 innings allowing 2 runs.
Kevin Gregg earned the save, his 3rd. Tim Lincecum(8-4) was given the loss.
Despite the loss, he struckout 10 Loni batters in 6 and 1/3 innings.

Matt Cain mowed down 13 Craig batters and Albert Pujols went yard and had 3
RBI as the Sam Mighty Acorns defeated the Craig Boys of Summer by a score of
9 to 3 at Coors Field.

Cain(5-5) delivered a fine performance for Sam. He allowed 6 hits and 3 walks
in 8 innings and surrendered 2 'round-trippers'. For the game Sam out-hit
Craig 16 to 6.

Zack Greinke(6-4) absorbed the loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 9 hits
and 2 walks in 6 innings. Cain didn't realize how many strikeouts he was
racking up. When told he had 13 he was obviously surprised, 'No kidding?
Man, I knew that I had a decent total, but I didn't think I had K'd that
many. Say, that's pretty good, isn't it?'

Taylor Teagarden rocketed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI at Yankee Stadium as the
Tyler Baseball Stars beat the John Fab 9 by the count of 8 to 6.

Teagarden enjoyed a big evening at the plate. He blasted a two-run home run
in the 5th inning and delivered a solo blast (his 6th of the season) in the
8th inning. John proved to be no trouble in the bottom of the 9th.

The win was credited to J.P. Howell(4-0) who went 2 and 2/3 innings allowing 3
runs. Kerry Wood was credited with his 13th save. Hideki Okajima(1-4) was
hit with the loss in relief.

Tyler now has a record of 39-31. With the loss, the John ballclub's record is
28-42.

Marmol was perfect in relief and gained credit for his 13th save.

Ryan Dempster(9-4) was the winner allowing no runs in 5 and 1/3 innings. Ervin
Santana(6-6) ended up with the loss. He pitched 7 innings allowing 7 hits
and 2 walks.

Designated hitter Luke Scott cracked 2 homeruns at Minute Maid Park as the
Jessica 2 much baseball came back dramatically to top the Trevor Fencebusters
by the score of 9 to 8.

Jessica erupted with the game winning runs in the 9th inning when they tallied
4 runs on 5 hits. Jessica simply wore out the Trevor pitching staff, scoring
in 6 different innings.

The winning pitcher was Chad Durbin(5-0) who allowed no runs in 2 and 1/3
innings. Joe Nathan(0-5) suffered the loss in relief. Jessica Van Tassell
was in great spirits in his post-game interview. Yet, when asked about his
feelings after the thrilling comeback victory, he volunteered, 'I'll tell you
this much - I know how my counterpart, Trevor's manager, feels right now -
and it's not very good. It's terrible when you come up on the short end of
one of these!'

Second baseman Dan Uggla hit one over the fence and had 2 RBI and Jake Peavy
struck out 10 batters at Busch Stadium where the Loni Green Monstahs beat the
Jason Stapley Luck 6 to 1.

Peavy(8-2) pitched one of his finer games as he simply was too much for the
Jason batters. He allowed only 5 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings lowering his
ERA to 2.80. Loni had 16 hits for the afternoon.

A.J. Burnett(4-8) was the losing pitcher. He got hit hard, allowing 11 hits
and 4 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings. Peavy was asked about his big strikeout
performance, 'Well, it's a little odd when you rack up these numbers on the
road - instead of cheers and a running tally in the stands, everything gets
real still and quiet. Just strange - but it's nice to be able to take the
crowd out of the game.'

Jason took the lead for good in the top of the 2nd inning scoring one runner.
John threatened in the 9th but Jason was able to put down the rally.

Roy Halladay(9-6) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 8 innings. Billy
Wagner earned his 8th save. Johan Santana(1-7) took the loss. He was hit
hard and gave up 11 hits and 2 walks in 7 innings.

'It was a tough one to lose' said John Morrey 'We'll get them next time out.'

The Loni Green Monstahs nipped the floundering Ben Free K Mitchell 4 to 3 at
Fenway Park in a hard fought contest.

In the bottom of the 5th inning Loni scored 3 runs when they had 4 base hits.
The crucial at-bat was provided by Aubrey Huff who made the crowd come alive
when he tripled plating two runs. Ben had a chance in the 9th but they came
up short.

The win was credited to Felix Hernandez(5-4) who went 5 and 2/3 innings
allowing 2 runs. Damaso Marte recorded his 2nd save. Jamie Moyer(4-6)
suffered the loss. He pitched 5 and 1/3 innings allowing 6 hits and 1
walk.

'Fundamentals, fundamentals, fundamentals' said Ben Stapley after the game.
'We lost this game today because we didn't follow the instructions every
Little Leaguer hears every day.'

The game was deadlocked at 2 after nine full innings. Craig came out the
victor in the 12th inning. The highlight belonged to Jack Cust who silenced
the crowd when he smashed a two-run homer (his 12th of the season). Craig
had 11 hits overall, while Tyler had 6.

The win went to Joakim Soria(6-1) who allowed no runs in 2 innings. Joe
Smith(0-2) was hit with the loss in relief. He allowed Craig 3 runs in 2
innings of work.

Torii Hunter hit 2 doubles and had 2 RBI and Joe Nelson pitched 3 strong
innings at Minute Maid Park where the seemingly unstoppable Terry Blast U
Balls beat the Jessica 2 much baseball by the score of 9 to 4.

Terry brought 5 runs across the plate in the 5th inning with the help of 4
hits. The critical plate appearance was by David Wright who disappointed the
partisan crowd when he rifled a three-run blast (his 12th of the season).
Terry out-hit Jessica for the game, 14 hits to 7.

The winning pitcher was Gil Meche(7-4) who allowed 4 runs in 5 innings.
Brandon Webb(4-6) was tagged with the loss. He allowed 5 runs and 7 hits in
5 innings.

With the win, Terry continued their winning ways; their streak now stands at 7
games and counting. 'It seems we can't lose these days', Terry Stapley
volunteered after the game. Then after a moment to reflect he lamented, 'Oh
great! Now I've gone and jinxed us!'

Ryan Braun smacked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Trevor Fencebusters
defeated the Sam Mighty Acorns by the score of 9 to 4 at AT&T Park.

Braun enjoyed a big day at the plate. He slapped a base-hit in the 3rd
inning, smacked a three-run homer in the 4th inning and lofted a solo-blast
'downtown' (his 15th of the season) in the 6th inning. Trevor had 12 hits
for the game and Sam had 6.

The victory was credited to Carlos Zambrano(6-7) who went 7 and 2/3 innings,
allowing 4 runs. Andy Sonnanstine(6-9) was the losing pitcher. He was
touched for 8 hits and 2 walks in 3 and 2/3 innings.

The win by Trevor was very good news as they had been 2-8 of late. Now their
seasonal record improves to 27-42. With the loss, Sam has a record of 5-5
lately, 35-34 overall.

strikes. Alex Rios contributed to the rally and was walked intentionally to
load the bases. Randy Winn stepped up next and he drew a walk. Dioner

The victory went to Mike Adams(1-0) who went 4 innings, allowing no runs. Ben

The Craig Boys of Summer cruised to a 10 to 3 victory over the Tyler Baseball
Stars at Polo Grounds.

Craig brought 5 runs across the plate in the top of the 4th inning with the
help of 5 hits. The highlight belonged to Mike Jacobs who silenced the
stadium when he blasted a two-run home run (his 9th of the season). Craig
had 12 hits overall, while Tyler had 7.

Jason Bay provided much of the offense. He lashed a single in the 2nd inning,
banged out a one-base hit in the 5th inning and lofted a three-run bomb (his
15th of the season) in the 8th inning. Terry had a total of 13 hits for the
game.

Cole Hamels(8-4) was the winner allowing 4 runs in 7 and 1/3 innings.
Chien-Ming Wang(0-3) was hit with the loss. He got hit hard, allowing 9 hits
and 3 walks in 6 innings.

C.C. Sabathia(5-5), with relief help from Scott Downs, shut down the Sam
Mighty Acorns hitters at AT&T Park. The Trevor Fencebusters came away with a
6 to 0 victory.

Sabathia looked very much in control throughout the day. He allowed only 2
hits and 5 walks in 8 innings improving his ERA from 3.50 to 3.24. The
pitchers took over after the 3rd inning as neither team was able to score
again.

Matt Cain(4-5) absorbed the loss. He was knocked around by Trevor, allowing 6
hits and 3 walks in 2 and 2/3 innings. Trevor's manager was just happy to
get a win, 'We've had such a bad streak of games -- boy, it's great to get
the monkey off our back. Now maybe we can relax a little and play the kind
of baseball of which we are capable.'

The deciding run was scored by Jason in the top of the 9th. After an out was
recorded, Carlos Quentin drew a walk. One out later, Alex Rios came to the
plate and doubled. Dioner Navarro then was walked intentionally. Jason and
John each finished the night with 6 hits.

Billy Wagner(2-0) allowed no runs in 1 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Anthony Reyes* recorded the save, his 1st. Jason Grilli(2-4)
absorbed the loss in relief.

Jason now has a record of 36-31. With the loss, the John ballclub's record is

allowed just 5 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings lowering his ERA to 2.78. Loni
had only 6 hits for the night.

Edinson Volquez(5-3) was charged with the loss. He allowed 2 runs and 3 hits
in 6 innings.

Tyler scored the deciding run in the bottom of the 9th inning. Dustin Pedroia
smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' (his 7th of the season) making Tyler
victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd. Although they lost,
Craig did out-hit Tyler 10 to 7.

The win went to Kerry Wood(2-2) who allowed no runs in 1/3 of an inning. Jesse
Carlson(3-4) was the losing pitcher in relief. He pitched 2/3 of an inning

appearance was by David Wright who deflated the crowd as he lifted one out of
the park for a two run home run (his 10th of the season). Jessica went down
without a fight in the bottom of the 9th.

Hiroki Kuroda(5-5) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings. Brian
Fuentes earned his 18th save. Matt Garza(5-5) was hit with the loss. The
Terry ballclub's record now stands at 34-30. With this loss, Jessica has a
6-4 record of late, 26-38 overall.

Joakim Soria(5-1) allowed no runs in 2 innings, and picked up the victory. The
losing pitcher was Hideki Okajima(1-3) in relief. 'I've spent a lot of time
in the cage and made some adjustments and they've paid off,' Soriano said. 'I
just take the same approach up there. I don't overanalyze it. I go up there,
see the ball and try to put a good swing on it.'

hits. The critical plate appearance was by Teagarden who came through for
the home fans when he launched a Grand Slam homerun (his 4th of the season).
Tyler managed 9 hits in their victory.

The victory went to Will Ohman(5-1) who went 1 inning, allowing no runs.
Carlos Marmol(0-2) was the loser in relief. 'We just wouldn't give up,'
Teagarden said. 'Much of the credit goes to our fans - they were with us the
whole way.'

Jessica erupted with the game winning runs in the bottom of the 8th inning
scoring 2 runs utilizing 2 base hits. After an out was recorded, Andre
Ethier keyed the rally when he stroked a base-hit. Ethier stole second with
some aggressive base running. Nick Punto was the next batter, but he struck
out. Nate McLouth was up next and he blasted a two-run home run (his 10th of
the season). Akinori Iwamura came to the plate and drew a walk. A wild
affair, this game saw the lead change 5 times.

The win was credited to Chris Sampson(1-2) who went 1 inning allowing no runs.
Sampson got relief help from Jonathan Broxton who gained credit for his 1st
save. Joe Nathan(0-4) was the losing pitcher in relief. He gave up 1 hit
and 1 walk in 2/3 of an inning.

Hanley Ramirez smashed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI but his offense was not enough
to carry Trevor to victory.

The game was decided in the 8th inning. Jason Bay doubled. Derrek Lee
stepped up to the plate and he singled. Edwin Encarnacion was a strikeout
victim, unable to help out. Hunter Pence got his chance to keep things
going, but he went down on strikes. Joe Mauer came to the plate and lashed a
single. Terry banged out 9 hits on the night.

Darren Oliver(1-1) went 2 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the win. Brian
Fuentes recorded his 17th save. Tim Lincecum(8-3) was tagged with the loss.
Despite taking the loss, he whiffed 10 batters in 7 and 2/3 innings.

With this win, Terry has a 32-30 record. They have been 6-4 lately. With the
loss Jason now has a record of 35-30.

lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' (his 14th of the season). Pat Burrell got his
turn next, but he was a strikeout victim. Stephen Drew dug into the batters
box next, but he struck out. Tyler managed 14 hits in their victory.

The winning pitcher was Oswalt(4-5) who allowed 2 runs for the game. Tim
Hudson(3-5) was the losing pitcher. He gave up 8 hits and 1 walk in 5

Jessica came through with the game-winning runs in the bottom of the 8th
inning scoring 2 runs utilizing 3 base hits. Jhonny Peralta kicked off the
action when he smacked a single. Damon swiped second base. Ryan Doumit then
lined a single. Nick Punto followed and he grounded into a double play.
Elijah Dukes came to the plate and smashed a solo-shot out of the park (his
8th of the season). Trevor threatened in the 9th but Jessica was able to put
down the rally.

The win went to Chad Durbin(4-0) who allowed no runs in 1 and 2/3 innings.
Brad Lidge was credited with his 14th save. Joba Chamberlain(0-5) absorbed
the loss in relief. Despite losing, he struckout 6 Jessica batters in 3 and
2/3 innings.

'We lose our concentration for one pitch, and we lose the game.' Trevor's
manager said after the game. 'Maybe now these guys will listen when I say
they have to concentrate on EVERY pitch.'

smacked a single. Rick Ankiel then lofted a three-run bomb (his 7th of the
season). After another out, Adrian Gonzalez stepped up to the plate and he
doubled. That scoring would be all that was needed. Trevor threatened in
the 9th but their rally came up short.

Josh Beckett(3-8) went 8 and 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Brad
Lidge was credited with his 13th save. C.C. Sabathia(4-5) was the loser.

Cole Hamels completed the game without help from the bullpen as the Terry
Blast U Balls topped the Jessica 2 much baseball by a score of 6 to 2 at
Candlestick Park.

Hamels(7-4) contributed a very nicely pitched game. He didn't give up much,
just 5 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings and was touched for 2 homeruns reducing
his ERA from 4.07 to 3.87. Terry totaled 11 hits on the afternoon.

Brandon Webb(4-5) ended up with the loss. He surrendered 6 runs and 11 hits
in 8 innings.

Ryan Ludwick blasted 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Tyler Baseball Stars
defeated the Craig Boys of Summer by the score of 4 to 3 at Coors
Field.

Tyler won the game with a run in the 9th inning. After an out was recorded,
Ludwick hit a bases-empty home run (his 12th of the season). After another
out, Jim Thome was next to the plate, but was promptly struck out. Craig
went down without a fight in the bottom of the 9th.

Kerry Wood(1-2) was the winner allowing no runs in 2 and 1/3 innings. Jesse
Carlson(3-3) was charged with the loss in relief. He gave up 4 hits and no
walks in 1 and 2/3 innings.

Catcher Chris Iannetta left the yard and Jesse Litsch went 7 and one third
strong innings as the Ben Free K Mitchell defeated the Trevor Fencebusters 4
to 1 at Ebbetts Field.

Litsch(5-2) was very good in the win. He allowed only 3 hits and 1 walk in 7
and 1/3 innings lowering his ERA from 2.58 to 2.30. Ben out-hit Trevor for
the game, 12 hits to 3.

Carlos Marmol gained credit for his 12th save. Carlos Zambrano(5-7) absorbed
the loss. He gave up 2 runs and 6 hits in 3 and 1/3 innings.

Roy Halladay mowed down 11 Loni batters at Busch Stadium as the Jason Stapley
Luck beat the Loni Green Monstahs by the count of 7 to 1.

Halladay(8-6) put on a good performance. He allowed just 4 hits and 3 walks
in 9 innings lowering his ERA to 4.38. Jason managed only 6 hits on the
afternoon.

Mark Buehrle(1-10) suffered the loss. Loni Stapley was upset after the game.
'I don't like to complain but did you see that umpires strike zone?', he
said. 'Maybe they ought to start calling the strike zone the way it's
printed in the rule book.'

SAM AT JOHN

At Yankee Stadium the John Fab 9 registered 5 runs in the 7th inning and
outscored the Sam Mighty Acorns 6 to 3.

Francisco Rodriguez(3-3) won the game with a masterful relief performance. He
went 3 innings surrendering no hits and 1 walk improving his ERA from 4.56 to
4.08. Brad Ziegler, after tossing a perfect ninth, was credited with his 6th
save.

The loss was charged to Cliff Lee(6-5). He pitched 6 innings giving up 5 hits
and 2 walks.

In a two run game the Jessica 2 much baseball got by the Terry Blast U Balls
by the score of 4 to 2.

Matt Garza(5-4) gave a fine effort for Jessica. He allowed 8 hits and no
walks in 7 innings and gave up 2 homeruns seeing his ERA drop from 5.04 to
4.79. Chad Durbin earned the save with a perfect ninth, his 2nd save.

Hiroki Kuroda(4-5) was the loser. He gave up 4 runs and 8 hits in 7 innings.
Jessica now has a record of 23-36. With the loss, the Terry ballclub's
record is 29-30.

Third baseman Aramis Ramirez cracked a homer and had 2 RBI as the Craig Boys
of Summer crushed the Tyler Baseball Stars 11 to 1.

Craig took the lead for keeps in the bottom of the 4th inning when they
tallied 4 runs on 4 hits. The key at-bat was by Jack Cust who electrified
Coors Field when he blasted a two-run home run (his 10th of the season).
Craig had 16 hits for the night while Tyler had 10.

The win was credited to Justin Verlander(3-5) who went 6 and 2/3 innings
allowing 1 run. Roy Oswalt(3-5) was given the loss. He was touched for 8
hits and 3 walks in 4 and 1/3 innings.

With this win, Craig has a league leading 38-24 record. They have been 5-5
lately. With the loss, Tyler has a record of 6-4 lately, 33-29 overall.

Edinson Volquez struck out 10 batters and Chris Iannetta cracked 2 homeruns at
Ebbetts Field as the Ben Free K Mitchell beat the Trevor Fencebusters by the
count of 7 to 6.

Iannetta enjoyed a fine evening at the plate. He smashed a solo-shot out of
the park in the 3rd inning, delivered a solo blast (his 6th of the season) in
the 7th inning and delivered a base-hit in the 8th inning. Trevor had a
chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.

The win went to John Grabow(2-0) who allowed 1 run in 2/3 of an inning. Arthur
Rhodes earned the save, his 1st. Joba Chamberlain(0-4) was charged with the
loss in relief. He pitched 1 and 1/3 innings and surrendered 7 hits and no
walks.

The Ben ballclub's record now stands at 37-25. Trevor can't seem to snap out
of their recent 'funk'. Now they have a miserable 2-8 record over the last
couple weeks.

LONI AT JASON

Jake Peavy whiffed 10 batters at Busch Stadium where the Loni Green Monstahs
beat the Jason Stapley Luck 2 to 0.

Peavy(7-2) simply dominated Jason. He surrendered only 5 hits and 1 walk in 9
innings lowering his ERA from 3.43 to 3.01. Loni had 7 hits for the night.

The losing pitcher was A.J. Burnett(4-7). 'He was really impressive tonight,'
Burnett said of his counterpart. 'Our guys were just swinging at air.'

SAM AT JOHN

The Sam Mighty Acorns defeated the John Fab 9 in 13 innings by a score of 5 to
2 at Yankee Stadium.

The score was tied at 2 after nine. Finally, Sam pulled the game out in the
13th inning. Matt Holliday led off and keyed the rally when he drew a walk.
Yadier Molina was next and he laced a base-knock. Joe Inglett then hit a
sacrifice fly. Vladimir Guerrero came up and he cracked a two-run shot (his
14th of the season). Sam took care of John with no trouble in the bottom of
the 13th.

The victory was credited to Jose Arredondo(1-1) who went 1 and 2/3 innings,
allowing no runs. Mariano Rivera recorded his 14th save. Hideki Okajima(1-2)
suffered the loss in relief.
