Chad Durbin(3-0) shut down the Terry Blast U Balls hitters at Candlestick Park
in 10 innings. The Jessica 2 much baseball came away with a 3 to 0
victory.

Neither pitching staff had allowed a run after the regulation nine innings.
Finally, Jessica pulled the game out in the 10th inning. After an out was
recorded, Kelly Shoppach began the rally when he laced a base-knock. Mike
Fontenot stepped up to the plate and he slapped a base-hit. Luke Scott then
delivered a single. Johnny Damon came up and he doubled. Nate McLouth
stepped into the box and hit a deep fly. Terry went down quietly in the
bottom of the 10th.

Durbin got help from Brad Lidge who earned his 12th save. The losing pitcher
was Joe Nelson(0-2) in relief. He gave up 2 runs and 2 hits in 2 and 1/3
innings.

Derek Lowe delivered 7 solid innings as the Tyler Baseball Stars defeated the
Craig Boys of Summer by a score of 3 to 1 at Coors Field.

Tyler brought 2 runs across the plate in the top of the 2nd inning when they
had 3 base hits. That was all the runs Lowe(5-7) needed. Overall Tyler
out-hit Craig 11 to 3.

Joe Smith recorded the save, his 1st. The loss was charged to Chad
Billingsley(4-5). The Tyler ballclub's record now stands at 33-28. Craig
has a record of 37-24 after the loss.

TREVOR AT BEN

Catcher Mike Napoli launched 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Ben Free K
Mitchell beat the Trevor Fencebusters by a score of 11 to 9.

The Ben fans enjoyed the offense provided by Napoli. He cracked a two-run
shot in the 1st inning, doubled in the 4th inning and smashed a two-run homer
(his 10th of the season) in the 6th inning. Trevor was not lacking for run
support as they scored in 5 separate innings, yet victory eluded them as they
seemed to forget that pitching is also needed to win ballgames.

Ryan Dempster(8-4) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 and 1/3 innings and
allowing 8 runs. Jair Jurrjens(4-7) was the losing pitcher. He was knocked
around by Ben, allowing 7 hits and 4 walks in 3 and 2/3 innings.

'It wasn't my best outing, but I'll take the win' Dempster said.

Carlos Delgado had 2 base hits and 3 RBI at Busch Stadium where the Jason
Stapley Luck beat the Loni Green Monstahs 8 to 2.

Jason took the lead for good in the bottom of the 4th inning scoring one
runner using 3 hits. Jason had 10 hits for the night while Loni had 5.

Joe Saunders(6-6) allowed 2 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. James Shields(8-3) was given the loss. He pitched 6 innings
allowing 7 hits and 2 walks.


SAM AT JOHN

In a good matchup it was the John Fab 9 4, the Sam Mighty Acorns 2 at Yankee
Stadium.

John scored the decisive runs in a big bottom of the 8th inning with 2 runs on
2 hits. Mike Aviles led off and started the rally when he lined a single.
After an out was recorded, Miguel Cabrera stepped up to the plate and he
blasted a two-run home run (his 6th of the season). The teams had been
locked in a scoreless duel until the 6th inning.

Joel Hanrahan(3-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 2 and 1/3
innings. Keiichi Yabu(0-3) was hit with the loss in relief. He surrendered 4
hits and no walks in 1 and 1/3 innings.

John now has a record of 25-36. With the loss Sam now has a record of 31-30.
