Ervin Santana delivered 7 solid innings as the Terry Blast U Balls beat the
Jason Stapley Luck by a score of 3 to 0.
Terry brought 2 runs across the plate in the 3rd inning. That was all the
runs Santana(6-5) needed. Terry had 10 hits for the game and Jason had 4.
Santana got help from Brian Fuentes who earned his 16th save. Ted Lilly(3-5)
absorbed the loss. He surrendered 10 hits and 4 walks in 9 innings.

Adam Dunn went yard and had 3 RBI as the John Fab 9 outscored the Craig Boys
of Summer 10 to 2.
Dunn was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided
much of the offense for the visitors. He doubled plating two runs in the 1st
inning and lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' (his 12th of the season) in the 7th
inning. John had 15 hits for the night while Craig had 7.
The win went to Ben Sheets(5-3) who allowed 1 run in 7 and 2/3 innings. Aaron
Cook(5-3) ended up with the loss. He surrendered 5 runs and 4 hits in 1/3 of
an inning.

26,023 fans were treated to a fine game at Fenway Park as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end. The Sam Mighty Acorns won by the
slimmest of margins, 7 to 6.
Sam scored the deciding run in the top of the 9th inning. After an out was
recorded, Yadier Molina laced a one-base hit. Granderson was running on the
next pitch and he stole second. Ian Kinsler then delivered a base-hit.
Michael Young was up next and he hit a sacrifice fly. Albert Pujols stepped
into the box and was walked intentionally. The Loni batters went down meekly
in the bottom of the 9th.
Jim Johnson(2-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 and 1/3 innings and
allowing no runs. Mariano Rivera recorded the save, his 15th. Kevin
Gregg(2-5) was the losing pitcher in relief.
The Sam ballclub's record now stands at 33-31. With the loss Loni now has a
record of 31-33.

Jim Thome went deep and had 2 RBI as the Tyler Baseball Stars topped the Ben
Free K Mitchell by a score of 4 to 3 at Polo Grounds.
Tyler scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning. The big moment was
provided by Thome who made the crowd happy when he cleared the fences for a
two-run home run (his 13th of the season). Ben threatened in the 9th but
Tyler was able to put down the rally.
The win was credited to Paul Maholm(5-4) who went 7 and 1/3 innings allowing 2
runs. Maholm got help from Kerry Wood who was credited with his 12th save.
The loss was charged to Jamie Moyer(4-5).
When questioned about the loss, Ben Stapley said, 'The fans got to see an
exciting game out there tonight. Unfortunately, we couldn't get it done this
time. Next time, though, we'll be the clubhouse with all the smiles.'

At Minute Maid Park the Jessica 2 much baseball outscored the ice-cold Trevor
Fencebusters 5 to 2.
Jessica jumped out to the early lead in the first inning scoring 3 runs
utilizing 3 base hits. After an out was recorded, Akinori Iwamura kicked off
the action when he drew a walk. Kelly Shoppach stepped up next and he
smacked a single. Rick Ankiel then lofted a three-run bomb (his 7th of the
season). After another out, Adrian Gonzalez stepped up to the plate and he
doubled. That scoring would be all that was needed. Trevor threatened in
the 9th but their rally came up short.
Josh Beckett(3-8) went 8 and 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Brad
Lidge was credited with his 13th save. C.C. Sabathia(4-5) was the loser.
His ERA ballooned from 2.69 to 2.95 as he allowed 3 runs in 2/3 of an inning.
