In a two run game the Jessica 2 much baseball got by the Terry Blast U Balls
by the score of 4 to 2.

Matt Garza(5-4) gave a fine effort for Jessica. He allowed 8 hits and no
walks in 7 innings and gave up 2 homeruns seeing his ERA drop from 5.04 to
4.79. Chad Durbin earned the save with a perfect ninth, his 2nd save.

Hiroki Kuroda(4-5) was the loser. He gave up 4 runs and 8 hits in 7 innings.
Jessica now has a record of 23-36. With the loss, the Terry ballclub's
record is 29-30.

TYLER AT CRAIG

Third baseman Aramis Ramirez cracked a homer and had 2 RBI as the Craig Boys
of Summer crushed the Tyler Baseball Stars 11 to 1.

Craig took the lead for keeps in the bottom of the 4th inning when they
tallied 4 runs on 4 hits. The key at-bat was by Jack Cust who electrified
Coors Field when he blasted a two-run home run (his 10th of the season).
Craig had 16 hits for the night while Tyler had 10.

The win was credited to Justin Verlander(3-5) who went 6 and 2/3 innings
allowing 1 run. Roy Oswalt(3-5) was given the loss. He was touched for 8
hits and 3 walks in 4 and 1/3 innings.

With this win, Craig has a league leading 38-24 record. They have been 5-5
lately. With the loss, Tyler has a record of 6-4 lately, 33-29 overall.

TREVOR AT BEN

Edinson Volquez struck out 10 batters and Chris Iannetta cracked 2 homeruns at
Ebbetts Field as the Ben Free K Mitchell beat the Trevor Fencebusters by the
count of 7 to 6.

Iannetta enjoyed a fine evening at the plate. He smashed a solo-shot out of
the park in the 3rd inning, delivered a solo blast (his 6th of the season) in
the 7th inning and delivered a base-hit in the 8th inning. Trevor had a
chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.

The win went to John Grabow(2-0) who allowed 1 run in 2/3 of an inning. Arthur
Rhodes earned the save, his 1st. Joba Chamberlain(0-4) was charged with the
loss in relief. He pitched 1 and 1/3 innings and surrendered 7 hits and no
walks.

The Ben ballclub's record now stands at 37-25. Trevor can't seem to snap out
of their recent 'funk'. Now they have a miserable 2-8 record over the last
couple weeks.

LONI AT JASON

Win:Peavy(7-2) Loss:Burnett(4-7)

Jake Peavy whiffed 10 batters at Busch Stadium where the Loni Green Monstahs
beat the Jason Stapley Luck 2 to 0.

Peavy(7-2) simply dominated Jason. He surrendered only 5 hits and 1 walk in 9
innings lowering his ERA from 3.43 to 3.01. Loni had 7 hits for the night.

The losing pitcher was A.J. Burnett(4-7). 'He was really impressive tonight,'
Burnett said of his counterpart. 'Our guys were just swinging at air.'

SAM AT JOHN

The Sam Mighty Acorns defeated the John Fab 9 in 13 innings by a score of 5 to
2 at Yankee Stadium.

The score was tied at 2 after nine. Finally, Sam pulled the game out in the
13th inning. Matt Holliday led off and keyed the rally when he drew a walk.
Yadier Molina was next and he laced a base-knock. Joe Inglett then hit a
sacrifice fly. Vladimir Guerrero came up and he cracked a two-run shot (his
14th of the season). Sam took care of John with no trouble in the bottom of
the 13th.

The victory was credited to Jose Arredondo(1-1) who went 1 and 2/3 innings,
allowing no runs. Mariano Rivera recorded his 14th save. Hideki Okajima(1-2)
suffered the loss in relief.
