Jon Lester pitched 9 strong innings as the Loni Green Monstahs defeated the
John Fab 9 4 to 1 at Fenway Park.
Loni came up with 2 runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning. The early run
support proved sufficient for Lester(4-3) and Loni. That was all the run
support Lester required. Both teams totaled 5 hits on the night.
Ubaldo Jimenez(2-4) took the loss. He pitched 5 and 2/3 innings allowing 3
hits and 7 walks.

Daisuke Matsuzaka carried a no-hitter into the 7th inning as the Sam Mighty
Acorns beat the Craig Boys of Summer by a score of 3 to 1.
Matsuzaka(4-0) gave Sam a solid outing. He was stingy on the mound, allowing
just 1 hit and no walks in 6 and 1/3 innings reducing his ERA from 3.50 to
3.19. The right-handed Matsuzaka lost his chance for a no-hitter when Ryan
Howard homered with one out in the 7th inning. Mariano Rivera was perfect in
relief and got the save, his 10th.
Zack Greinke(5-3) was the losing pitcher. He allowed 3 runs and 5 hits in 5
and 2/3 innings.

40,479 fans were treated to a fine game at Minute Maid Park as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end. The Jessica 2 much baseball snapped
a 5 game losing streak and won by the slimmest of margins, 3 to 2.
Josh Beckett(2-7) pitched a fine game. He was reached for 4 hits and no walks
in 8 innings and surrendered 2 'long-bombs'. Terry had a chance to come back
in the 9th but they came up short.
Beckett got help from Brad Lidge who earned his 9th save. Cole Hamels(5-3)
absorbed the loss. He gave up 3 runs and 6 hits in 7 innings.
When questioned, Jessica Van Tassell remarked, 'It's been a while since a win
felt this good - heck, it's been a while since we had a win period!'

Ryan Braun launched 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI at Busch Stadium where the Trevor
Fencebusters beat the Jason Stapley Luck 6 to 1.
Braun was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided
much of the offense for the visitors. He lifted one out of the park for a
two run home run in the 1st inning, stroked a single in the 5th inning and
smashed a solo-shot out of the park (his 11th of the season) in the 7th
inning. Carlos Zambrano(4-6) got relief help from Joe Nathan who was
excellent in relief and gained credit for his 11th save.
A.J. Burnett(4-5) was the loser. He got hit hard, allowing 11 hits and 3
walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.

Center fielder Grady Sizemore collected 4 RBI with one swing of the bat and
Derek Lowe took a no-hitter into the 6th inning at Polo Grounds as the Tyler
Baseball Stars beat the Ben Free K Mitchell by the count of 7 to
2.
Lowe(4-5) was in control of the game from the outset. He surrendered only 3
hits and 3 walks in 7 innings. The right-handed Lowe lost his chance for a
no-hitter when Jimmy Rollins singled with two outs in the 6th inning. Both
teams finished the game with 6 hits.
Tim Hudson(3-3) was hit with the loss. He surrendered 6 runs and 5 hits in 1
and 2/3 innings.
