Stephen Drew added four ribbies to his seasonal total with one swing of the
bat as the Tyler Baseball Stars defeated the Jason Stapley Luck by the score
of 8 to 4 at Polo Grounds.
It was a good day for Tyler thanks to Drew. He caught a hold of a fastball
for a Grand Slam homerun (his 6th of the season) in the 3rd inning and
tripled in the 6th inning. Tyler rapped out 8 hits for the afternoon.
Paul Maholm(4-4) went 5 innings allowing 4 runs for the win. The losing
pitcher was Roy Halladay(6-6). He got hit hard, allowing 5 hits and 2 walks
in 2 and 2/3 innings.
The Tyler ballclub's record now stands at 30-27. With the loss, Jason has a
record of 4-6 lately, 30-27 overall.

Hunter Pence blasted a homerun and had 2 RBI as the Terry Blast U Balls beat
the John Fab 9 in 12 innings by a score of 4 to 2.
The score was knotted at 2 after nine innings. Terry came out on top in the
12th inning. Jacoby Ellsbury got things going when he tripled. Torii Hunter
next to the plate and he cleared the fences for a two-run home run (his 9th
of the season) making Terry the victor and beginning a joyous home town
celebration. The teams had been locked in a scoreless duel until the 6th
inning.
Matt Thornton(2-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 2 and 2/3
innings. Ramon Ramirez(0-1) was tagged with the loss in relief. He gave up 2
hits and no walks without retiring a batter.

Third baseman Aramis Ramirez had 4 hits and 2 RBI and Greg Smith tossed a
complete game at Fenway Park where the Craig Boys of Summer beat the Loni
Green Monstahs by the score of 11 to 2.
Craig started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of the
first scoring 4 runners on 5 hits. That was all the offense they were to
need. Offensively, Craig was a juggernaut. They scored in 6 separate
innings.
Smith(3-1) finished the game allowing 2 runs in the victory. Felix
Hernandez(2-4) took the loss. He surrendered 5 hits and no walks in 2/3 of
an inning.

Center fielder Josh Hamilton had 2 base hits at AT&T Park where the Ben Free K
Mitchell beat the Trevor Fencebusters 4 to 2.
Edinson Volquez(5-2) gave Ben a solid outing. He was stingy on the mound,
allowing just 6 hits and no walks in 8 innings. Volquez recorded 9
strikeouts. Ben banged out 8 hits on the night.
Carlos Marmol earned his 11th save. Jair Jurrjens(4-6) suffered the loss. He
pitched 5 innings giving up 5 hits and 4 walks.
JESSICA AT SAM

Andy Sonnanstine took a no-hitter into the 6th inning as the Sam Mighty Acorns
outscored the Jessica 2 much baseball 3 to 0.
Sonnanstine(6-7) pitched well for Sam in their victory. He went 5 and 1/3
innings surrendering 1 hit and 1 walk. The right-handed Sonnanstine lost his
no-hit bid when Luke Scott singled with one out in the 6th inning. Overall
Sam out-hit Jessica 9 to 3.
Jose Arredondo earned the save, his 1st. Shaun Marcum(0-6) absorbed the loss.
He pitched 8 innings and surrendered 9 hits and 5 walks.
