Jon Lester went 8 strong innings as the Loni Green Monstahs defeated the John
Fab 9 by a score of 3 to 1 at Yankee Stadium.

Loni went ahead for good in the 5th inning plating an isolated run utilizing 2
base hits. Loni finished with just 6 hits in the victory.

The victory went to Lester(5-3) who went 8 innings, allowing 1 run. Jonathan
Papelbon got the save, his 7th. Ubaldo Jimenez(3-5) was the losing pitcher.
He surrendered 2 runs and 5 hits in 6 and 2/3 innings.

The Jason Stapley Luck defeated the Craig Boys of Summer by a score of 7 to 4
at Busch Stadium.

Jason scored 6 runs in the 2nd inning with the help of 6 hits. That early run
support was enough for Roy Halladay(7-6) and Jason. The Craig bats were
silent in the 9th.

Halladay got help from Trevor Hoffman who earned his 4th save. Chad
Billingsley(4-4) was charged with the loss. He gave up 5 hits and 1 walk in
1 and 2/3 innings.

What an evening for the Ben Free K Mitchell! They shellacked the Sam Mighty
Acorns pitching for 13 runs while Jamie Moyer(4-4), with relief help from
Jeff Bennett, surrendered 3 runs to Sam.

Josh Hamilton was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a
fine day at their team's expense. He launched a rocket-shot out of the park
for a Grand Slam homerun (his 10th of the season) in the 6th inning and
stroked a base-hit plating a run in the 9th inning. Ben had 14 hits for the
night while Sam had 7.

Bennett gained credit for his 1st save. Matt Cain(4-4) was the loser. He
allowed 4 homeruns in 8 innings of work.

Ervin Santana reeled off a total of 11 strikeouts as the Terry Blast U Balls
beat the Trevor Fencebusters by a score of 10 to 3.

Santana(5-5) pitched a fine game. He went 9 innings allowing 8 hits and 1
walk and surrendered 2 'round-trippers'. Terry managed 12 hits in their
victory.

Dan Haren(5-6) absorbed the loss. He was touched for 3 homeruns in his 4
innings of work. Santana was pleased with his performance. He noted, 'I had
good zip on my pitches. Just as important, my location was right on. The
fans really got into the game too - that always helps me. Now, if I can only
do that again in my next outing.'

JESSICA AT TYLER

Right fielder Ryan Ludwick smacked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Tyler
Baseball Stars outscored the Jessica 2 much baseball 12 to 3.

Ludwick had a big day at the plate. He delivered a one-base hit in the 1st
inning, blasted a solo shot in the 3rd inning, laced a base-knock in the 4th
inning and blasted a two-run home run (his 10th of the season) in the 7th
inning. Tyler finished with 19 hits while Jessica ended up with 9.

Mike Pelfrey(3-2) went 5 and 2/3 innings allowing 3 runs for the victory. The
losing pitcher was Matt Garza(4-4). He served up 3 gopher balls in 3 and 1/3
innings.
