At Fenway Park the John Fab 9 outscored the Loni Green Monstahs 7 to 4.

John scored 5 runs in the 4th inning with the help of 4 hits. The key
offensive moment was provided by Mike Aviles who silenced the crowd when he
stroked a single bringing in two baserunners. Brad Ziegler was perfect in
the ninth giving him his 4th save on the season.

John Danks(4-3) picked up the victory, allowing 4 runs in 5 and 1/3 innings.
James Shields(7-2) was hit with the loss. He was knocked around pretty good,
giving up 6 runs in 3 and 2/3 innings.

With this win, John has a 22-29 record. They have been 5-5 lately. With the
loss Loni now has a record of 23-28.

CRAIG AT SAM

Justin Verlander racked up an impressive total of 10 strikeouts as the Craig
Boys of Summer defeated the Sam Mighty Acorns 12 to 4 at Wrigley
Field.

Verlander(2-4) earned his pay with a solid performance for Craig. He went 8
and 2/3 innings allowing 10 hits and 3 walks. Craig rapped out 11 hits for
the night.

Matt Cain(4-3) was charged with the loss. He was not very effective,
surrendering 7 runs in 3 innings. Verlander was pleased with his
performance. He noted, 'I had good command of all my pitches. Just as
important, my location was right on.'

TERRY AT JESSICA

The Terry Blast U Balls tallied 5 runs in the 3rd inning and nipped the
Jessica 2 much baseball 9 to 8 at Minute Maid Park in a hard fought
contest.

Terry came through with the game-winning runs in the top of the 8th inning
with 3 runs utilizing 3 base hits. After an out was recorded, Derrek Lee
began the rally when he reached on an error. Edwin Encarnacion came to the
plate and doubled. Hunter Pence then cracked a two-run shot (his 9th of the
season). Brad Ausmus struck out, unable to help the rally. Kelly Johnson
stepped into the box and laced a base-knock. Terry and Jessica each finished
the afternoon with 11 hits.

Buddy Carlyle(1-0) went 1 and 2/3 innings allowing 3 runs for the victory.
Brian Fuentes earned the save, his 13th. The loss was charged to Chris
Sampson(0-2) in relief. He pitched 4 and 2/3 innings giving up 5 hits and 1
walk.


TREVOR AT JASON

First baseman Kevin Youkilis hit one over the fence as the Jason Stapley Luck
topped the Trevor Fencebusters by a score of 7 to 6 at Busch Stadium.

Jason scored the deciding run in the bottom of the 8th inning. Alex Rios
slapped a one-base hit, and an error was also committed. Dioner Navarro next
to the plate and he laid down a sacrifice bunt. Shane Victorino then laced a
single. Randy Winn followed, but he was set down on strikes. It was roller
coaster of a game as the lead change hands 5 times.

The win went to Billy Wagner(1-0) who allowed 1 run in 2 and 2/3 innings.
Wagner was helped out by Grant Balfour who recorded his 4th save. Bobby
Jenks(0-2) was given the loss in relief. He was pinned with the loss despite
not allowing an earned run in his 1 inning of work.


BEN AT TYLER

Milton Bradley lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and Jeff Bennett delivered 8
solid innings as the Ben Free K Mitchell defeated the Tyler Baseball Stars by
a score of 6 to 1 at Polo Grounds.

Ben had 2 runs cross the plate in the top of the 3rd inning. That was all
Bennett(4-3) needed. Ben out-hit Tyler for the game, 14 hits to 3.

Carlos Marmol recorded the save, his 10th. Paul Maholm(3-4) suffered the
loss. He served up 3 gopher balls in 6 innings.
