Brandon Phillips jacked one out of the ballyard and had 3 RBI and Ben Sheets
was able to finish what he started and was credited with a complete game as
the John Fab 9 beat the Loni Green Monstahs by a score of 5 to 2.
John took the lead for good in the 6th inning when they tallied 2 runs on 2
hits. The key at-bat was by Phillips who deflated the crowd as he cleared
the fences for a two-run home run (his 11th of the season). John and Loni
each finished the night with 8 hits.
Sheets(4-3), allowing 2 runs for the game, picked up the victory. The losing
pitcher was Mark Buehrle(0-9). He pitched 6 and 1/3 innings and surrendered
7 hits and no walks.

In a two run game the Craig Boys of Summer got by the Sam Mighty Acorns by the
score of 10 to 8.
Sam fell behind quickly as the Craig offense came through in the first inning
when they scored 4 runs on 3 hits. The key at-bat was by Ryan Howard who
quieted the home crowd when he cracked a two-run shot (his 16th of the
season). Sam threatened in the 9th but Craig was able to put down the rally.
The win went to Taylor Buchholz(4-1) who allowed no runs in 3 innings. Todd
Wellemeyer(3-5) ended up with the loss. 'This was a tough loss,' said Sam
Austin, 'the kind that sticks with you for awhile.'
TERRY AT JESSICA

Adrian Gonzalez blasted 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Jessica 2 much
baseball defeated the Terry Blast U Balls by a score of 5 to 4 at Minute Maid
Park.
Gonzalez had a big evening at the plate. He lifted one out of the park for a
two run home run in the 1st inning and lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' (his
17th of the season) in the 5th inning. Terry had 13 hits in the game while
Jessica had 7, but Jessica had the more timely hits.
The winning pitcher was Brandon Webb(3-4) who allowed 4 runs in 6 and 1/3
innings. Brad Lidge earned the save, his 10th. Jeremy Guthrie(2-6) suffered
the loss. He served up 3 homeruns in his 8 innings.
'It wasn't my best outing, but I'll take the win' Webb said.

One run was the difference at Busch Stadium as the Jason Stapley Luck defeated
the Trevor Fencebusters in 10 innings 2 to 1.
The score was knotted at 1 after nine innings. Jason came out on top in the
10th inning. Kevin Youkilis hit a bases-empty home run (his 11th of the
season) giving Jason the victory as 48,139 happy fans celebrated wildly.
Jason out-hit Trevor for the game, 9 hits to 5.
Grant Balfour(1-1) went 1 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory.
Joe Nathan(0-3) was hit with the loss in relief. He surrendered 2 runs and 3
hits in 1 inning.
BEN AT TYLER

Roy Oswalt pitched a 2 hitter as the Tyler Baseball Stars outscored the Ben
Free K Mitchell 7 to 1.
Tyler claimed the early lead in the first inning as they scored 4 runs on 2
base hits. That early scoring held up. Tyler managed only 6 hits on the
afternoon.
The winning pitcher was Oswalt(2-4) who allowed 1 run for the game. Ryan
Dempster(6-4) was the loser. 'All of my pitches were working today,' Oswalt
said. 'I felt really good out there, and heck, I think I could have gone
longer.'
