At Wrigley Field the Sam Mighty Acorns outscored the Jason Stapley Luck 5 to
2.

Daisuke Matsuzaka(1-0) pitched well enough to earn the win. He was reached
for 5 hits and 3 walks in 5 innings. Sam finished with 10 hits in the
victory.

Matsuzaka got help from Mariano Rivera who earned his 3rd save. The losing
pitcher was Roy Halladay(2-1). He surrendered 5 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings
and saw his ERA increase from 1.56 to 3.00.

At Candlestick Park the blistering-hot Craig Boys of Summer easily handled the
Terry Blast U Balls by the score of 5 to 1.

Craig started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of the
first scoring 2 runners on 2 hits. That was all the offense they were to
need. Craig ended up with 8 hits for the game while Terry had 5.

The victory was credited to Zack Greinke(2-0) who went 6 and 2/3 innings,
allowing 1 run. Joakim Soria got the save, his 3rd. Hiroki Kuroda(0-2) was
the losing pitcher. By surrending 5 runs in 7 innings his ERA jumped from
1.00 to 2.25.

Craig continued on their recent roll, their winning streak now reaching 8
games and counting.

LONI AT TREVOR

James Shields went the distance and left fielder Chris Dickerson went deep and
had 2 RBI at AT&T Park where the Loni Green Monstahs beat the Trevor
Fencebusters 9 to 2.

Loni took the lead for good in the top of the 2nd inning as they scored 2 runs
on 2 base hits. Loni had 11 hits for the night.

Shields(3-0) finished the game allowing 2 runs in the victory. Jair
Jurrjens(1-2) was the loser. He gave up 5 runs in 3 innings of work.

The Loni ballclub's record now stands at 8-5. With this loss, Trevor has a
3-7 record of late, 3-10 overall.

BEN AT JOHN

David Ortiz cracked a homer and had 3 RBI at Yankee Stadium as the John Fab 9
beat the Ben Free K Mitchell 9 to 3.

Ortiz helped send the fans home happy. He blasted a solo shot (his 4th of the
season) in the 2nd inning, tripled in the 4th inning and doubled scoring two
baserunners in the 7th inning. Offensively, John was a juggernaut. They
scored in 6 separate innings.

The victory went to Kyle Lohse(1-2) who went 7 and 1/3 innings, allowing 3
runs. Tim Hudson(1-1) was charged with the loss. He allowed 11 hits and 2
walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.

John now has a record of 7-6. With the loss Ben now has a record of 7-6.

TYLER AT JESSICA

Center fielder Grady Sizemore had 4 hits and 5 RBI at Minute Maid Park as the
Tyler Baseball Stars beat the Jessica 2 much baseball by the count of 10 to
3.

Sizemore had a big evening at the plate. He cracked a solo homerun (his 1st
of the season) in the 1st inning, banged out a single in the 3rd inning,
laced a base-knock bringing in two baserunners in the 4th inning and
delivered a base-hit plating a run in the 8th inning. Tyler out-hit Jessica
for the game, 17 hits to 7.

Paul Maholm(1-0) went 6 innings allowing 3 runs for the victory. J.P. Howell
gained credit for his 2nd save. Josh Beckett(0-3) was tagged with the loss.
He was touched for 9 hits and 2 walks in 3 and 2/3 innings.

Tyler now has a record of 8-5. Jessica can't seem to snap out of their recent
'funk'. Now they have a miserable 2-8 record over the last couple weeks.
