Ronnie Belliard rocketed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Aaron Cook allowed Craig
Stapley to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the Craig Boys of
Summer defeated the John Fab 9 8 to 2 at Coors Field.
The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Belliard. He lifted one out of the park for a two run home run
in the 2nd inning and blasted a two-run home run (his 2nd of the season) in
the 4th inning. Craig banged out 14 hits on the afternoon.
Cook(1-0) allowed 2 runs on the game. The loss was charged to Johan
Santana(0-1). He served up 4 gopher balls in 5 and 2/3 innings.

At Wrigley Field, the Sam faithful were treated to an intriguing pitcher's
duel. Cole Hamels(1-1) finally bested his Sam counterpart, Cliff Lee(1-1),
by the score of 2 to 1.
The deciding run was scored by Terry in the top of the 8th. After an out was
recorded, David Wright drew a walk. Jason Bay was next and he drew a walk.
Derrek Lee then doubled. One out later, Hunter Pence was the next batter,
but he struck out. Sam threatened in the 9th but Terry was able to put down
the rally.
Brian Fuentes recorded the save, his 1st. Lee was hit with the loss. He got
hit pretty hard, allowing 11 hits and 3 walks in 7 and 1/3 innings.
'We won because we did the little things right.' Terry Stapley said after the
game. 'This is why we practice things over and over and over, so when we get
in close games we don't make mistakes.'

Conor Jackson left the yard at Minute Maid Park as the Jessica 2 much baseball
beat the Trevor Fencebusters in 12 innings 2 to 1.
The score was knotted at 1 after nine innings. Jessica came out the victor in
the 12th inning. After an out was recorded, Adrian Beltre delivered a
one-base hit. Rick Ankiel stepped into the batter's box and he tripled
resulting in an exciting win for Jessica and a raucous post-game celebration
by the home town fans. The game was a scoreless duel until the 6th inning.
Chad Durbin(1-0) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the win. Takashi
Saito(0-1) was the loser in relief. He pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up 2
hits and no walks.

Jon Lester racked up an impressive total of 10 strikeouts as the Loni Green
Monstahs beat the Baseball Stars in 10 innings by a score of 5 to 2.
Both teams were tied at 2 runs apiece after nine innings. Loni won it in the
10th inning. After an out was recorded, Aubrey Huff got things rolling when
he drew a walk. Yunel Escobar stepped up next and he doubled. Carlos
Beltran then tripled. Mark Teixeira stepped in and he stroked a single.
Carlos Lee stepped into the box and grounded into a double play. Despite
losing, Baseball out-hit Loni 12 to 9.
Brian Tallet(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 and 2/3 innings and
allowing no runs. Roy Corcoran(0-1) was the losing pitcher in relief. He
allowed 3 runs and 3 hits in 3 and 1/3 innings.

The Stapley Luck edged the Ben Free K Mitchell at Ebbetts Field by the score
of 3 to 2.
Tim Lincecum(2-0) pitched a solid game. He surrendered 4 hits and 2 walks in
6 innings. Both teams totaled 6 hits on the afternoon.
Lincecum was helped out by Billy Wagner who recorded his 1st save. Ryan
Dempster(0-2) was tagged with the loss. He pitched 8 innings and surrendered
6 hits and 4 walks.
