Mike Aviles had 4 hits as the John Fab 9 defeated the Tyler Baseball Stars by
the score of 7 to 3 at Polo Grounds.
John scored the decisive runs in a big top of the 8th inning scoring 6 runners
on 6 hits. The big moment was provided by Xavier Nady who deflated the
spirits of the home town crowd when he cracked a two-run shot (his 4th of the
season). John had 15 hits overall, while Tyler had 5.
The winning pitcher was Kyle Lohse(2-2) who allowed 3 runs in 8 and 2/3
innings. Roy Oswalt(0-2) was tagged with the loss. He pitched 7 and 2/3
innings giving up 10 hits and no walks.

Gil Meche went 6 and two third strong innings as the Terry Blast U Balls
defeated the Jason Stapley Luck by a score of 2 to 0 at Candlestick Park.
In the 6th inning Terry scored 2 runs. The key offensive moment was provided
by Edwin Encarnacion who made the Terry fans a happy lot when he lifted one
out of the park for a two run home run (his 3rd of the season). Terry
finished with 5 hits while Jason ended up with 2.
Meche(2-2) went 6 and 2/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Brian
Fuentes recorded his 3rd save. Roy Halladay(2-2) was the losing pitcher.
JESSICA AT SAM

Luke Scott launched 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Jessica 2 much baseball
outscored the Sam Mighty Acorns 11 to 6.
The Sam fans didn't appreciate the big day Scott had. He smashed a two-run
homer in the 1st inning and lofted a three-run 'big-fly' (his 6th of the
season) in the 8th inning. Jessica kept the pressure on throughout the
contest as they scored in 6 different innings.
The victory went to Matt Garza(1-1) who went 5 and 1/3 innings, allowing 2
runs. Todd Wellemeyer(1-2) was hit with the loss. He was touched for 4
homeruns in his 5 and 1/3 innings of work.

In a close game the seemingly unstoppable Craig Boys of Summer got by the Loni
Green Monstahs by the score of 5 to 3.
Greg Smith(1-1) contributed a pedestrian performance to earn the win. He went
6 and 1/3 innings allowing 9 hits and 1 walk. Craig had 11 hits for the
night.
Smith got relief help from Joakim Soria who gained credit for his 5th save.
The loss was charged to Felix Hernandez(1-1). By giving up 5 runs in 6 and
1/3 innings his ERA increased from 2.84 to 4.26.
'It wasn't my best outing, but I'll take the win' Smith said.
BEN AT TREVOR

The Ben Free K Mitchell defeated the Trevor Fencebusters by a score of 8 to 4
at AT&T Park.
Ben came up with 4 runs in the top of the 7th inning with the help of 4 hits.
The key offensive moment was provided by Prince Fielder who disappointed the
partisan crowd when he belted a three-run homer (his 2nd of the season). For
the game Ben out-hit Trevor 12 to 8.
The win was credited to John Grabow(1-0) who went 3 innings allowing no runs.
Bobby Jenks(0-1) was the loser in relief. Ben continued their winnings ways
improving their record to 11-6. They are 8-2 in their last ten games.
Trevor continued their losing ways and their record is now 4-13, worst in the
league. They are 2-8 in their last ten games.
