First baseman Adrian Gonzalez blasted 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Jessica
2 much baseball defeated the Sam Mighty Acorns by the score of 5 to 3 at
Minute Maid Park.
The Jessica fans enjoyed the offense provided by Gonzalez. He cleared the
fences for a two-run home run in the 1st inning, slapped a base-hit knocking
in a run in the 5th inning and delivered a solo blast (his 11th of the
season) in the 8th inning. Jessica managed 8 hits in their victory.
Dan Wheeler(3-0) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the victory. Brad Lidge
earned his 4th save. Keiichi Yabu(0-1) was the loser in relief. He
surrendered 1 run and 1 hit in 1 inning.

41,265 fans were treated to a fine game at AT&T Park as only one run separated
the combatants at game's end. The Craig Boys of Summer won by the slimmest
of margins, 7 to 6.
Craig took the lead for good in the 7th inning when they scored 2 runs on 3
hits. The Trevor bats were silent in the bottom of the 9th.
Chad Qualls(2-0) allowed 3 runs in 2 innings, and picked up the victory.
Taylor Buchholz gained credit for his 2nd save. Joba Chamberlain(0-3)
suffered the loss in relief. He was not very effective, surrendering 3 runs
in 2 and 1/3 innings.

Kyle Lohse allowed John Morrey to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game at
Ebbetts Field where the John Fab 9 beat the Ben Free K Mitchell 8 to

Lohse(3-3) contributed a very nicely pitched game. He gave up just 6 hits and
1 walk in 9 innings reducing his ERA from 5.40 to 4.91. John totaled 10 hits
on the night.
The loss was charged to Jamie Moyer(3-2). He pitched 5 and 2/3 innings and
surrendered 4 hits and 5 walks.

Jason Bay blasted a homerun at Fenway Park as the Terry Blast U Balls beat the
Loni Green Monstahs by the count of 5 to 2.
Ervin Santana(3-3) pitched well for Terry in their victory. He was reached
for 4 hits and 3 walks in 7 innings lowering his ERA to 4.84. Overall Terry
out-hit Loni 13 to 5.
Brian Fuentes was credited with his 9th save. Jon Lester(2-2) was hit with
the loss. He allowed 3 runs and 7 hits in 5 innings.

Roy Oswalt carried a no-hitter into the 6th inning and Pat Burrell cracked a
homer and had 2 RBI as the Tyler Baseball Stars outscored the Jason Stapley
Luck 8 to 0.
Oswalt(1-3) was on top of his game. He surrendered only 3 hits and 1 walk in
9 innings lowering his ERA from 4.76 to 3.88. The right-handed Oswalt lost
his chance for a no-hitter when Dioner Navarro singled with nobody out in the
6th inning. Tyler banged out 14 hits on the night.
A.J. Burnett(3-4) was tagged with the loss. He allowed 3 homeruns in 7 and
2/3 innings of work. When questioned about his counterpart after the game,
Burnett was lavish in his praise, 'It was obvious very early on that we were
going to be in for a long night. Oswalt brought his 'A' game with him - he
had good stuff and was able to spot it perfectly. He probably only made one
or two bad pitches the entire game!
