Center fielder Vernon Wells collected 2 extra-base hits as the Craig Boys of
Summer defeated the Ben Free K Mitchell in 11 innings by a score of 5 to 4 at
Coors Field.

Both teams were tied at 4 runs apiece after nine innings. Craig came out on
top in the 11th inning. Wells laced a one-base hit. Alfonso Soriano stepped
up to the plate and he slapped a base-hit. Nick Markakis then doubled
resulting in an exciting win for Craig and a raucous post-game celebration by
the home town fans. Craig had 12 hits for the night.

Joakim Soria(4-1) went 2 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the win. The
loss was charged to Hong-Chih Kuo(1-1) in relief. He surrendered 3 hits and
no walks without retiring a batter.

JESSICA AT JASON

Akinori Iwamura had 2 base hits and 3 RBI at Busch Stadium where the Jessica 2
much baseball beat the Jason Stapley Luck by the score of 7 to 1.

Jessica jumped on top to stay in the top of the 5th inning plating an isolated
run on 3 hits. Jessica had 13 hits for the game and Jason had 4.

Scott Kazmir(2-1) was the winner allowing 1 run in 5 and 1/3 innings. Chad
Durbin got the save, his 1st. Joe Saunders(1-4) ended up with the loss. He
was knocked around by Jessica, allowing 8 hits and 6 walks in 5 innings.


TREVOR AT JOHN

Homeruns- D.Ortiz(8th), X.Nady-2(6th), B.Phillips(6th)

Right fielder Xavier Nady smashed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the John Fab 9
topped the Trevor Fencebusters by a score of 7 to 6 at Yankee Stadium.

Nady had a big evening at the plate. He slapped a single which plated a run
in the 2nd inning, hit a bases-empty home run in the 4th inning and delivered
a solo blast (his 6th of the season) in the 8th inning. John banged out 11
hits on the night.

The win went to Hideki Okajima(1-1) who allowed no runs in 1 and 2/3 innings.
Joe Nathan(0-2) was the losing pitcher in relief. He surrendered 1 run and 1
hit in 2/3 of an inning.

John now has a record of 9-13. With the loss, Trevor has a record of 3-7
lately, 6-16, worst in the league overall.

Carlos Lee launched 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and James Shields was able to
finish what he started and was credited with a complete game at Fenway Park
as the Loni Green Monstahs beat the Tyler Baseball Stars by the count of 8 to
3.

Lee had a good evening at the plate. He smashed a solo-shot out of the park
in the 4th inning, cracked a two-run shot (his 3rd of the season) in the 5th
inning, slapped a base-hit in the 7th inning and smacked a single bringing in
a run in the 8th inning. Loni managed 13 hits in their victory.

Shields(4-0) allowed 3 runs on the game. Chris Volstad(1-1) was the loser. He
got hit hard, allowing 10 hits and 2 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings.

'I had good swings tonight,' Lee said, 'Everything felt right'.

TERRY AT SAM

The Terry Blast U Balls defeated the Sam Mighty Acorns by a score of 4 to 1 at
Wrigley Field.

Sam fell behind quickly as the Terry offense came through in the first inning
when they scored 2 runs on 2 hits. That scoring would be all that was
needed. Despite losing, Sam out-hit Terry 10 to 7.

Hiroki Kuroda(2-2) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 and 2/3 innings and
allowing 1 run. Brian Fuentes gained credit for his 6th save. Todd
Wellemeyer(1-3) was hit with the loss. He allowed 3 homeruns in 5 and 1/3
innings of work.
