One run was the difference at Coors Field as the Tyler Baseball Stars defeated
the Craig Boys of Summer 6 to 5.

Tyler took the lead for good in the 7th inning when they scored 2 runs on 2
hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Jim Thome who silenced the stadium
when he blasted a two-run home run (his 1st of the season). Craig had a
chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.

Will Ohman(4-1) got the win allowing no runs in 2 innings. Joey Devine was
credited with his 2nd save. Jesse Carlson(0-1) was the losing pitcher in
relief.

Rick Ankiel cracked a homer and had 3 RBI at Minute Maid Park as the Jessica 2
much baseball beat the John Fab 9 by the count of 8 to 3.

Jessica jumped on top of John in the bottom of the 4th inning scoring a single
run. For the game Jessica out-hit John 11 to 6.

The win went to Matt Garza(2-1) who allowed 2 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings.
Huston Street recorded the save, his 2nd. Kyle Lohse(2-3) was given the
loss. He pitched 6 and 2/3 innings and surrendered 7 hits and no walks.


TREVOR AT JASON

Left fielder Carlos Quentin had 4 hits and 4 RBI as the Trevor Fencebusters
were badly beaten by the Jason Stapley Luck, 17 to 7.

Quentin had a good day at the plate. He slapped a base-hit in the 1st inning,
smashed a two-run homer (his 1st of the season) in the 4th inning, lined a
one-base hit bringing in two baserunners in the 7th inning and slapped a
base-hit in the 8th inning. Jason bats were hot in the 7th inning with 6
runs on 7 hits and the 8th inning which saw them plate 5 runs on 4 hits.
Jason out-hit Trevor for the game, 23 hits to 11.

The victory went to Tim Lincecum(4-0) who went 6 and 1/3 innings, allowing 4
runs. Jair Jurrjens(1-3) was charged with the loss. He got hit pretty hard,
allowing 13 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings.


BEN AT TERRY

Jamie Moyer shutout Terry while allowing the Ben bullpen a day-off and Prince
Fielder had 4 hits and 3 RBI as the Ben Free K Mitchell beat the Terry Blast
U Balls by a score of 6 to 0.

The Terry fans didn't appreciate the big day Fielder had. He bombed a two-run
dinger (his 4th of the season) in the 1st inning, doubled plating a run in
the 3rd inning, doubled in the 5th inning and doubled in the 7th inning. Ben
managed 9 hits in their victory.

Moyer(2-1) was credited with the shutout. Jeremy Guthrie(2-2) was tagged with
the loss. With this win, Ben has a 12-9 record. They have been 5-5 lately.
With the loss Terry now has a record of 10-11.

SAM AT LONI

Left fielder Chris Dickerson had 4 hits and 2 RBI at Fenway Park as the Loni
Green Monstahs beat the Sam Mighty Acorns 8 to 3.

Dickerson helped send the fans home happy. He ripped a solo home run (his 3rd
of the season) in the 2nd inning, laced a one-base hit in the 4th inning,
doubled bringing in a run in the 5th inning and doubled in the 8th inning.
Overall Loni out-hit Sam 14 to 6.

Jake Peavy(3-0) went 5 and 2/3 innings allowing 3 runs for the win. Andy
Sonnanstine(1-4) was the loser. He allowed Loni 7 runs in 4 and 2/3 innings
of work.
