Jimmy Rollins had 4 hits and scored 3 times at Coors Field as the Ben Free K
Mitchell beat the Craig Boys of Summer 10 to 4.

Ryan Dempster(3-3) pitched a solid game. He went 7 and 2/3 innings allowing 6
hits and 2 walks. Dempster mowed down 9 Craig batters. Ben had 16 hits for
the game and Craig had 7.

Chad Billingsley(2-1) was tagged with the loss. He got hit hard, allowing 10
hits and 4 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.

JESSICA AT JASON

Chone Figgins had 2 base hits and A.J. Burnett carried a no-hitter into the
6th inning as the Jason Stapley Luck outscored the Jessica 2 much baseball 3
to 2.

Burnett(3-2) was virtually untouchable. He was stingy on the mound, allowing
just 2 hits and 1 walk in 7 and 2/3 innings. Burnett whiffed an impressive
total of 11 Jessica batters lowering his ERA to 3.79. The right-handed
Burnett had his no-hit bid broken up by Ryan Doumit who singled with one out
in the 6th inning. Jessica was set down quietly in the 9th.

Burnett was helped out by Grant Balfour who recorded his 2nd save. Brandon
Webb(1-2) was the loser. He gave up 3 runs and 7 hits in 7 innings.

Jessica Van Tassell was upset after the game. 'I don't like to complain but
did you see that umpires strike zone?', he said. 'Maybe they ought to start
calling the strike zone the way it's printed in the rule book.'

TREVOR AT JOHN

Dan Haren whiffed 11 batters and Fred Lewis slammed a homerun and had 3 RBI as
the Trevor Fencebusters destroyed the John Fab 9 by a score of 12 to 2 at
Yankee Stadium.

Haren(2-3) was very good in the win. He allowed only 6 hits and 1 walk in 9
innings and was touched for 2 homeruns. Trevor totaled 13 hits on the night.

Ben Sheets(1-2) was charged with the loss. John Morrey was impressed with
Haren and his 11 strikeouts. 'It's tough to generate runs if you can't make
contact with the ball.'

TYLER AT LONI

In a close game the Tyler Baseball Stars got by the Loni Green Monstahs by the
score of 11 to 9.

Joey Devine(2-0) was dominant in relief. He surrendered no hits and 1 walk in
2 and 1/3 innings and chalked up 6 strikeouts seeing his ERA drop from 3.68
to 2.79. It was roller coaster of a game as the lead change hands 5 times.

Kerry Wood got the save, his 5th. Jonathan Papelbon(1-1) suffered the loss in
relief. He was pinned with the loss despite not allowing an earned run in
his 2 innings of work.


TERRY AT SAM

Carlos Pena smashed 2 homeruns as the Sam Mighty Acorns topped the Terry Blast
U Balls by a score of 4 to 3 at Wrigley Field.

Sam took the lead off Ervin Santana in the first inning as they scored 2 runs
on 2 base hits. Terry threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.

The winning pitcher was Cliff Lee(3-3) who allowed 2 runs in 5 and 1/3
innings. Mariano Rivera earned his 4th save. Santana(2-3) was the losing
pitcher. He served up 3 homeruns in his 7 innings.

Terry Stapley was subdued when questioned after the game, 'Sure, this kind of
loss takes a while to get over, but heck, we're all professionals. We've
been through this many times - it's the nature of the game. We'll be fine -
as for me - I'll be ready to go again tomorrow!'
