Hunter Pence homered and had 2 RBI as the Jessica 2 much baseball were badly
beaten by the Terry Blast U Balls, 18 to 8.

Pence led the offense for Terry. He smashed a solo-shot out of the park (his
5th of the season) in the 1st inning, tripled knocking in a run in the 5th
inning and doubled in the 7th inning. Terry kept the scorekeepers busy in
the 1st inning with 5 runs on 5 hits and the 5th inning which saw them plate
7 runs on 6 hits. Terry had many opportunities throughout the game and
scored in 6 separate innings.

Cole Hamels(5-2) picked up the victory, allowing 7 runs in 8 and 1/3 innings.
Josh Beckett(1-6) was hit with the loss.

Jose Arredondo had a strong outing as the Sam Mighty Acorns defeated the Craig
Boys of Summer in 13 innings by a score of 5 to 3 at Wrigley Field.

The score was tied at 3 after nine. Sam won the game in the 13th inning.
After an out was recorded, Ian Kinsler opened up the rally as he doubled.
Albert Pujols followed and he smashed a two-run homer (his 6th of the season)
making Sam the victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration. Sam
managed 7 hits in their victory.

B.J. Ryan(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 inning and allowing no
runs. Brian Bruney(1-1) took the loss in relief. He allowed 2 hits and no
walks in 1 and 1/3 innings.

Dustin Pedroia had 2 base hits at AT&T Park where the Tyler Baseball Stars
beat the Trevor Fencebusters 3 to 1.

Tyler delivered all the runs required in the 1st inning with 3 runs using 3
hits. Pedroia led off and started the rally when he doubled. Grady Sizemore
came next and he delivered a single. Ryan Ludwick then lofted a three-run
'big-fly' (his 5th of the season). Jim Thome got his chance to keep things
going, but he went down on strikes. That was all the offense they were to
need. Neither team managed to score after the 3rd inning.

The victory was credited to Derek Lowe(3-5) who went 8 and 1/3 innings,
allowing 1 run. Lowe got relief help from Kerry Wood who gained credit for
his 9th save. C.C. Sabathia(3-2) ended up with the loss.

With this win, Tyler has a 22-20 record. They have been 5-5 lately. With an
impressive recent record of 8-2, Trevor hopes this will only be an isolated
loss - followed by another nice run.

In a thrilling finish the John Fab 9 won in dramatic fashion coming back to
beat the Ben Free K Mitchell by the count of 11 to 10.

The difference in the game was the offensive outburst by John in the bottom of
the 9th inning as they ripped Ben for 7 runs on 5 hits. The key at-bat was
by Nick Swisher who elicited a roar from the hometown fans when he emptied
the bases with a Grand Slam homerun (his 6th of the season). John totaled 14
hits on the afternoon.

The win went to Joel Hanrahan(2-0) who allowed 2 runs in 2 innings. Carlos
Marmol(0-1) was given the loss in relief. John Morrey was ebullient after
the game, 'It's great to win a hard fought game like that. Our guys just
weren't going to be denied. And did you see the fans - they were going wild!
Yes sir, a very enjoyable win this afternoon!'

At Fenway Park, the Loni faithful were treated to an intriguing pitcher's
duel. Joe Saunders(4-5) finally bested his Loni counterpart, Mark
Buehrle(0-7), by the score of 3 to 1.

In the top of the 2nd inning Jason went on top for good plating an isolated
run. After an out was recorded, Carlos Delgado hit a bases-empty home run
(his 9th of the season). Jason and Loni each finished the afternoon with 7
hits.

Saunders got help from Trevor Hoffman who was credited with his 3rd save.
Buehrle was tagged with the loss. He gave up just 3 runs and 7 hits in 9
innings.
