Joe Saunders had a strong outing as the Jason Stapley Luck defeated the Craig
Boys of Summer by a score of 8 to 0 at Busch Stadium.
Saunders(3-5) came through with a virtuoso performance against the Craig
hitters. He didn't allow much, just 4 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings
improving his ERA from 6.07 to 4.96. Jason rapped out 13 hits for the
afternoon.
Justin Verlander(0-3) took the loss. Jason now has a record of 18-17. Craig
has a record of 23-12 after the loss.

Felix Hernandez was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game as the Loni Green Monstahs beat the Trevor Fencebusters by a
score of 5 to 2.
Loni brought 3 runs across the plate in the 5th inning. Maicer Izturis opened
up the inning nicely when he delivered a single. Yunel Escobar was next and
he was hit by a pitch. After an out was recorded, Dan Uggla came to the
plate and drew a walk to load the bases. Aubrey Huff came up and he would
ground out. Chris Dickerson stepped into the box and tripled. Loni banged
out 10 hits on the night.
Hernandez(2-2) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 2 runs. Dan
Haren(3-4) was given the loss. He was touched for 7 hits and 3 walks in 4
and 2/3 innings.
'Thankfully we got ourselves a win', Hernandez said. 'It's great to be back on
the winning side of things.'

Designated hitter David Ortiz had 2 base hits as the John Fab 9 defeated the
Sam Mighty Acorns 8 to 7 at Wrigley Field.
John scored the decisive runs in a big 8th inning scoring 2 runs. After an
out was recorded, Adam Dunn opened up the rally as he drew a walk. Bobby
Abreu followed and he drew a walk. Ortiz then drew a walk to load the bases.
Brian McCann was up next and he drew a walk. Xavier Nady stepped into the
box and hit a deep fly. Brandon Phillips added to the rally and stroked a
base-hit to load the bases. Sam was set down quietly in the bottom of the
9th.
Javier Lopez(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 3 innings and allowing
no runs. Joel Hanrahan earned his 1st save. Keiichi Yabu(0-2) was the losing
pitcher in relief.

Edwin Encarnacion homered and had 3 RBI at Ebbetts Field where the Terry Blast
U Balls beat the Ben Free K Mitchell 12 to 7.
Terry won the game with a rally in the top of the 8th inning scoring 6 runners
on 5 hits. The big moment was provided by Derrek Lee who quieted the crowd
when he laced a base-hit bringing in two baserunners. Both teams ended up
with 12 hits on the night.
Salomon Torres(2-0) allowed 1 run in 4 innings, and picked up the victory.
Torres got help from Brian Fuentes who was credited with his 11th save. Cory
Wade(0-3) absorbed the loss in relief.
The Terry ballclub's record now stands at 17-15. With the loss, the Ben
ballclub's record is 20-15.
TYLER AT JESSICA

Stephen Drew had 2 base hits and 4 RBI as the Tyler Baseball Stars outscored
the Jessica 2 much baseball 8 to 5.
Tyler had 4 runs cross the plate in the top of the 6th inning with the help of
5 hits. The big moment was provided by Drew who disappointed the partisan
crowd when he slapped a base-hit which was good for two runs. Tyler managed
12 hits in their victory.
Paul Maholm(2-2) went 8 innings allowing 5 runs for the win. Maholm was helped
out by Kerry Wood who recorded his 7th save. Dan Wheeler(3-1) was hit with
the loss in relief.
